Tamara Pickering “EagleEye”
Founder, Director, Executive Community Leader DFW TX
My enthusiasm of hiking and playing outside led to the founding of this group. I was often locally solo hiking, which I still enjoy. I wanted to adventure further from home, but I wasn’t brave enough to do that alone. I lacked friendships with women who enjoyed the outdoors as much as I do. I began to lead local hikes, when I first started posting our hikes, I was surprised by how many women showed up. Quickly I realized there are so many women just like myself, seeking a hiking sisterhood community. Through our community I have found fun, adventurous and very real women to do life with. Building our Sisterhood has been so exciting! Within our group I have not only found a hiking community but deep friendships. Every month I feel such joy as women share what they have found within our Sisterhood. Their stories are about new found peace, hope, renewal and friendships. My life has been enriched by this group. The size of our Sisterhood group keeps growing, yet more importantly we are growing as women. We all find ourselves letting things go, and focusing on what is truly important. We are a SISTERHOOD, we keep growing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually stronger. I am honored to be on this journey with so many incredibility real women who encourage and cheer for each other. I am in awe of our Leadership team they do such a beautiful job helping women to connect and feel comfortable from the moment they arrive at a hike. I truly love our team and our Sisterhood Community. I am looking forward to all that is to come as we continue this journey. Together let’s keep moving, connecting and growing!

Executive Community Leader Central TX
I have always loved travel, the outdoors and engaging is physically active adventures with other women. My first encounter with Sisterhood Hikes was when they took their first road trip…to Palo Duro Canyon. I lived in that area and knew those trails well. I joined them and lead their hikes that weekend. I instantly connected and bonded in friendships that will last a lifetime. Fast forward, I moved to Central Texas where I am now honored to be leading monthly hikes! I love leading hikes, getting to share in fun adventures and enjoying the experience of all nature has to offer. I feel called to love, serve and lead the women within our community. Life is full of challenges and changes, yet we really can grow and find peace and joy even through the pain we may experience. I look forward to every hike, meeting new sisters, building deep friendships and growing healthier with all of you!

The great outdoors, moving, connecting and growing is crucial to our physical, spiritual and mental health. As a hike leader I find much joy in watching so many women show up for our monthly group hikes. Sisterhood is definitely the right place for those seeking not just hiking buddies but to connect and build meaningful relationships. Hiking with our community has provided me with amazing friendships, which is a significant reason to connect with other women. These Sisters encourage me and keep me grounded in what’s important. I look forward to each adventure and all we continue to build together.

Executive Hike Leader
Hiking is an escape from the daily grind, an escape that continually feeds my soul. I have been with our group since the beginning, before we were known as SISTERHOOD HIKES! Leading our community of sisters into nature, seeing them find the beauty of hiking is rewarding. Sharing the trail with my fellow Sisters is a journey that challenges, humbles, and inspires me. Every hike brings a new adventure, which keeps me coming back for more. I am excited for all that is to come within our Sisterhood!

Kelly “Sidekick”
Executive Hike Leader
Hiking brings me a sense of peace and calmness. Leading as pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to accomplish things I’ve never dreamed possible. Being in nature, disconnected from the noise of everyday life and seeing the beauty God has created brings me joy. Joining Sisterhood has given me the opportunity to become more self aware, build confidence and build meaningful relationships which go far beyond our monthly hikes.

Miranda Pressnell “Pink Ranger”
Executive Hike Leader
Hiking is an important part of my life, but it was difficult to find others who shared that same interest. I do enjoy hiking and trail running solo. Yet, not wanting to walk every trail alone I was seeking connection with others who enjoy these same activities. I feel fortunate to have found Sisterhood Hikes, I have met so many women just like myself, women who needed hiking buddies! Not only did I find hiking buddies, but great friendships. I even ran a marathon because I found a training partner in this group. I love leading hikes with Sisterhood, it has been rewarding helping women feel more comfortable on the trail, some who may be trying hiking for the first time. Come join us, there’s a place for you!

Chelsea Chadwick “Ranger“
Family Hikes & such / Senior Hike Leader
As a teacher and a mother, I enjoy encouraging everyone around me to get outside, enjoy and explore! There is so much all around you, Texas alone has so much to offer. In Dallas & Fort Worth, we have wonderful local trails, parks, nature preserves, gardens, and museums. We also have incredible State Parks within an hour or two from the metroplex. As your family becomes more adventurous we can help you find day or weekend outings, so much awaits you! Getting our kids outside is so good for their health and their growth…physically and emotionally. Fresh air, connecting with others, moving, learning new things, are all so good! When I am leading a hike, my joy comes in seeing families take the opportunity to seek, experience and adventure with the kids. There is so much to do, come join us, connect with other families seeking to get their crew outside and moving. I look forward to meeting new families, let’s have fun watching the kids learning, playing, and laughing on a Family Hikes & such adventure soon!!!

Senior Hike Leader
I’ve always been captivated by God’s gifts through the beauty of the natural world. The serenity of the great outdoors rejuvenates my spirit. I find solace, strength, and a sense of adventure through hiking. I have found that mid-life comes with its own set of challenges, changes and opportunities. It can be a time of rediscovering ourselves, personal growth, and embracing new adventures…even if sometimes those new adventures involve forcing me to grow through my anxiety of worrying about parking and getting to the hike on time. As a Hike Lead I enjoy being a part of this supportive and empowering community. This group is for all women, like myself who are seeking inspiration, connection, personal growth and the joy of being in nature hiking.

Michele Blanchette “Roadrunner”
Senior Hike Leader
Growing up in Panama I was always outdoors surrounded by nature. Hiking is my way of filling up my cup, a way to release stress. Joining this group was an investment in myself. When leading our hikes, I love how alive I feel! Stepping onto a trail, the feeling of anticipation, not knowing what adventure nature may have to offer us, is so exciting!
What is so beautiful and truly amazing about Sisterhood Hikes is how I can easily connect with other women. The way we share our stories, learn from each other and support each other is a gift. No matter what we are going through it’s always better when we have someone to listen and offer encouragement.

Rebecca Vinson “Compass"
Senior Hike Leader
For me hiking, being in nature has made me more self-aware. While hiking I am able to clear away the chatter, push my own limits and reap the physical and mental benefits. Sisterhood is hiking, but with the bonus of friends cheering each other to go further, climb higher; then celebrating with a high five to top it off! As a hike leader, I am encouraged every hike by the women attending, all from different back grounds, all with various physical capabilities. We all show up for ourselves and for each other. Sharing our stories, we shed tears, we laugh, we slow down, we listen, we take pictures, we build memories and we keep going! I am blessed by our Sisterhood and so proud to play a part in leading women month after month.

Shelley Caniglia “Flygirl”
Senior Hike Leader
Getting out and exploring nature is fabulous, but I return month after month because Sisterhood is so much more than just hiking. The friendships and community that this group has brought to my life is such a blessing. Leading group hikes gives me an opportunity to connect with incredible women. It also gives me a front row seat to watching women encouraging and cheering for each other!

Sofia Russo “Wildflower”
Senior Hike Leader
When I was a kid growing up in Mexico I enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends. As, we all do I grew up, lol! As we get older it’s harder to find relationships with others that want to seek the great outdoors. Sisterhood has brought so many women into my life that love hiking and being outside! This group has helped me connect with other women, women who I can not only hike with, but build friendships. Women who share everyday life, joys and tears, women who support each other.

Support Hike Leader
Hiking is a way for me to reconnect to myself while also making connections with others. Moving along the trail is certainly a stress reliever, a spiritual refocus, and endorphin creator all wrapped together! When leading our hikes I feel a sense of unity in our community, it is indeed a Sisterhood. We all bring pieces of ourselves and leave having been given pieces of others. We are all striving to become the best version of ourselves.

Hiking helps with my physical, mental and spiritual health. I am moving my body while escaping the hustle and bustle of work and everyday concerns. Hiking with the Sisterhood has led me to connecting with other women on the trails. Together we feel empowered to keep going, together we rejoice when we reach the end of a trail. Being on a trail, experiencing nature, bonding with others, enjoying creation is something that feeds my soul. As a Hike Leader I love the fact that I get to share these experiences with so many amazing women!
